Best Quality Assurance Hotel Award

We are proud to announce that the Hotel Sleep Inn San José Downtown has won the Best Quality Assurance Hotel Award from Choice Hotels International, Inc. in Latin America and the Caribbean. This is the second consecutive year that the Sleep Inn San José has received this recognition. We strive for world-class customer service, and we realize that the client is the reason we are here.
The award comes as a result of three yearly hotel inspections, two of which are scheduled and one of which is unannounced. The compliance of existing franchisees with quality standards is monitored through these scheduled and unannounced quality assurance reviews, conducted periodically at each property. Properties that fail to maintain a minimum score are reinspected on a more frequent basis until deficiencies are cured, or until such properties are terminated.
Choice Hotels International selected Grupo Real to conduct these inspections at the Sleep Inn. Grupo Real has extensive experience in the hospitality industry and a demonstrated strength and consistent approach in designing and conducting quality assurance programs.

Our hotel was evaluated on issues including staff professionalism and training, safety and security, work area conditions, retention policies, internal communications, knowledge of the property and area, and food-and-beverage operations, among others. Of the fourteen hotels in the Latin American and Caribbean area, our hotel was selected best in all aspects of the inspection.

Commitment to guest satisfaction and operational excellence are key focal points for Choice Hotels International. Across all of its brands, Choice is investing in programs that will improve guest service at the property level and will potentially enhance service consistency at all hotels. Along with the Quality Assurance Reviews, guest satisfaction is also a determining factor in the Best Quality Assurance Hotel Award.
Choice reviewed Sleep Inn San José’s guest satisfaction scores, which are calculated using surveys emailed to guests within 48-72 hours of checkout, and used them in its Award decision.
Quality Assurance Programs

Consistent quality standards are critical to the success of a hotel franchise. Choice has established quality standards for all of its franchised brands.
These standards cover housekeeping, maintenance, brand identification, and minimum service offering. Properties are inspected for compliance with Choice Hotels quality standards when application is made for admission to the franchise system.
To encourage compliance with quality standards, various brand-specific
incentives and awards are used to reward franchisees that maintain consistent quality standards.

Choice Hotels identify franchisees whose properties operate below minimum quality standards and assist them in complying with brand specifications.
Franchisees who fail to improve on identified quality matters may be subject to consequences ranging from written warnings to termination of the franchisee's franchise agreement.
